Although, information and communication have become common words in the modern world dominated by technological developments, they always mattered in the agricultural industry. From day one, humans started growing crops, raising livestock and catching fish, they started asking and gathering information from all available sources. With the changing world, farmers and agricultural industry are changing at the same pace. Agreed, that still many farmers think accounting is a job involving entering credit and debit in two separate columns, which is better left off for accountants.

Introduction to Use of Information Technology in Agriculture Industry

Some farmers are using computers and software’s; however, these software’s seem to be serving general purpose. Usually, farmers are using a system that can be used by any business, designed for “Single entry” bookkeeping program or a generic version allowing low and “Double entry” accounting feature. Nevertheless, such systems in no way meet the purpose of using accounting software in agriculture. It is observed that these systems are not enough to track the information or print records regularly needed by farming enterprises or the farmers. In short, such software’s will offer simplicity but will lack in flexibility.

The details that are missed out by such generic or simple accounting software are offered by comprehensive accounting software that is specifically developed by OneAccounting for Agriculture industry. Henceforth, farmers will not have to focus on credits and debits, balance sheets or income statements, finances or taxes; but they will get all the management information needed to take better and productive decisions.

Farmers do understand the importance and impact of advanced technology for minimizing labor costs and increasing profits. Way again, it has been noticed that farmers usually make a heavy investment in machineries and tools, but fail to incur similar investments in other technological sectors that would save them time and money.

According to one of the reports, agricultural production has increased by about 80% since last fifty years. This growth was possible due to the use of smart crop management and optimal use of land. As of now, farmers are focusing on increasing yield per acre and per animal.

What Farmers Should Understand Before Investing in Accounting Software -> Technology is Important Not the Software:

Already farmers were using innovative technology like tractors mounted with GPS and multispectral imaging devices. By squeezing every drop of profit they make, farmers are investing hundreds and thousands of dollars in the latest technology. The only thing is; it is a narrow aspect of investing in technology, which should be assisted with a comprehensive expense management and accounting software.

Although an accounting, management software is not directly related to or is not in direct connection with the crops in the field, it offers detailed data and schematic of which crop is doing better, crops that are not yielding profits and particular part of land that is under-performing.

-> If Farming is a Business, Treat it like one:

although farmers are spending time in their fields and for pasturing, they do it because they want to earn money. In fact, farms are a source of business either offering profit or loss. For ensuring this asset, perform to its fullest potential by increasing efficiency and maximizing the ROI, use of accounting software is must. When it comes to accounting and farming, sadly, most of the farmers are relying on the cash basis of accounting. This method usually fails to reflect profit, loss and total earning of their business. Such farmers are not only ignoring implementing technology in a broader perspective, but they are neglecting the best foregoing accounting practices that otherwise will help them in increasing their ROI.

Tips for Selecting the Best Accounting Software for Agriculture ->

The agricultural industry as a whole deals with the utilization of natural resources making it susceptible to huge accounting implications. The basic agricultural needs often surpass the basic accounting needs of tracking finances in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and in the general ledger. Agricultural accounting software should be able to track inventory, usage of land, tending processes, discoveries, extraction and other things that will integrate finance and operations in one system.

->

Agriculture is a business dealing exceptionally with raw materials. The system should support increased and enhanced movement of these goods in the downstream. Accounting Software developed and designed by OneAccoutning is compatible to maximize logistics and inventory management for effectively delivering goods in the market.

->

Apart from inventory management and utilization of natural resources, it is good if the software offers few advanced technological features. Wastage calculation, lot or batch based inventory tracking, different units of measurement conversion and interest calculation. OneAccounting software is integrated with some relevant and industry specific features that are seldom found in any other accounting system.

->

The agriculture industry has its own language; therefore, it is important that the software you choose should speak your language. Ensure that you prefer investing in software that allows enough scope to customize the software as per your individual needs. Software offering enough flexibility to determine various fields and reports is extremely important, especially when your aim is to generate information. Find a software that allows such customization and implementation of customized fields in a seamless manner.

->

Of all the necessities, the agricultural industry is in strong need of accounting software that helps them in all the aspects of budgeting and forecasting. Keeping aside the regular challenges of predicting demand, the agriculture industry is always facing uncertainty from the supplier side. Comprehensive accounting software with well-integrated inventory management system will help you forecast, strategize, plan and implement theories and solutions to face What-If scenarios.

A transgender woman attacked in Harlem, New York last week died on Thursday after being declared brain dead and taken off life support. Police are treating the death of Islan Nettles, 21, as a hate crime.

They were called faggots, they were called he-shes, she-males, things of that nature

Nettles was walking with transgender friends early on August 17 when they met a group of men opposite a local police building. Police say a fight ensued after the men discovered the group was transgender and local man Paris Wilson, 20, was arrested at the scene.

Wilson was charged by prosecutors in Manhattan with assault and harassment. Prosecutors say more serious charges could be brought after police received allegations homophobic language was used, with a hate crimes team now investigating. The death has been ruled a homicide and a spokeswoman for the New York City medical examiner’s office said Nettles was killed by “blunt impact head injuries”.

The criminal complaint Wilson presently faces says a police officer found Nettles “unconscious on the ground with a swollen shut eye and blood on her face”. Wilson is accused of punching Nettles to the ground and then repeatedly hitting her while she lay there.

Fashion became a definite decision for my life after my first show with my hand designed garments in high school

Nettles was interested in a fashion career, working as an intern for local fashion firm Ay’Medici. “Fashion became a definite decision for my life after my first show with my hand designed garments in highschool”, she wrote on LinkedIn, where she described herself as “anti-violence”. She has previously instructed fashion at Harlem Children’s Zone, undertaking studies at New York College of Technology and the Bread and Roses Integrated Arts High School.

Her mother, Dolores Nettles, told press Nettles and her friends were subject to transphobic insults. “They were called faggots, they were called he-shes, she-males, things of that nature,” she said.

Daniel L. Squadron of the New York State Senate said yesterday in a statement “Islan was 21 years old — 21 years old. And her life and future were stolen from her. Let’s be clear: intolerance, discrimination and hate have no place in New York or anywhere.” He called for the passage of a related bill he supports, the Gender Expression Non-Discrimination Act.

Wilson is presently free on bail, with a court hearing scheduled for October 4.

In an attempt to speak with as many candidates as possible during the 2008 Canadian federal election, Wikinews has talked via email with David Sparrow. Sparrow is a candidate in Ontario’s Don Valley West riding, running under the New Democratic Party (NDP) banner. The riding was set to vote in a by-election on September 22, 2008, following the resignation of John Godfrey, but Stephen Harper’s sudden election call nulled that effort.

Also running in the Toronto riding are Liberal Rob Oliphant, Conservative John Carmichael, Green Georgina Wilcock, and Communist Catherine Holliday.

The following is an interview with Sparrow, conducted via email. The interview is published unedited, as sent to Wikinews.

According to the Christian Post, Don Levine, the creator of the G.I. Joe, will be creating a line of action figures based on characters from the Old Testament. Released this month are action figures of Samson, David, Noah, Moses, and dolls of Queen Esther and Deborah the Warrior. The toys come with their own Bible storybook. By the fall, the line will expand to 35 products. Levine has began developing a DVD series and television show.

While certainly not the first action figures, dolls, or animated programs based on Biblical characters, it is perhaps the first to launch with a full-fledged licensing program. Already a comic book, narrated CDs, wallet, flashing pins, dog tags, and necklaces have been released.

Levine created G.I. Joe for Mattel in 1963, after a licensing agent suggested soldier figures might have the same success as their Barbie line.

Most of the calls where individuals feel deeply connected to the person they talk to is a quality of cultivating and listening to the silences according to Public Speaking Courses. It’s crucial to take time to allow the other’s words to settle, or to allow the words that you just said to settle and wait to see what’s next.

The initial and most noticeable advantage to this is that while doing this, it decreases the habit to interrupt. The discussion becomes more interesting and you are more curious about what the other has to say and this has a huge effect on the way of listening and on the relationship with this person. You no longer think about the response when you’re listening, you’re only listening. And this means when it comes to a response, you’ve been really able to hear what the other had to say – not only their words but the 90% of the communication that is conveyed beyond the words themselves. Therefore, it’s a lot easier to respond in a way that’s completely appropriate and in a way that satisfies them.

The second advantage is quite subtle. Paying attention to the silences somehow shifts the attention beyond to the bigger image. You can notice the trees and clouds outside the window, the space seems to expand, “You” seem less significant. This makes it a lot easier to see the discussion from a less personal view. It’s a lot simpler to let go of strongly held points of view and to see it from the other’s perspective and also see a much wider and more global perspective. This is both relaxing and also very powerful.

The third advantage is connected to the second, which is that the other person tends to get drawn into this bigger picture. There’s often simultaneously a way deeper sense of personal connection, while the selfish personal aspects are somehow taken less seriously by both sides. This is greatly releasing and very beneficial to develop relationships and to resolve issues. It is a deeply creative space.

And yet, don’t start phone calls with half a minute of silence – you might freak out whoever you’re talking to! Allow a bit longer silences than usual and perhaps allow these to lengthen as the phone call progresses or as the situation seems to require it.

And this principle surely influences hugely when speaking in public. You could start your talk by spending 10 or 15 seconds making eye contact with the audience in silence, as you may have noticed that lots of the top speakers do. Take the necessary time while speaking to stop to allow your words to sink in and wait to hear and see what really needs to be said after that. Let go of the idea that silence is something to be filled and allow it to be a friend. It really makes a big difference.

Australian newspapers and magazines could be fined up to $30,000 for breaches of media standards, according to a Press Council submission to Julia Gillard’s media inquiry. The fine is said to be reserved for “exceptionally grave” or persistent breaches, and suggests that newspapers could be censured or reprimanded “where appropriate”.

PM Julia Gillard announced the media inquiry earlier this year under pressure from Greens leader Bob Brown, as part of an attempt to boost public confidence in the media following the News of the World hacking scandal. However, fears exist that the inquiry could impede freedom of the press, with the Newspaper Publishers’ Association stating that a free press should be accountable to its market and not the government.

The Press Council has also suggested the appointment of a new panel headed by a retired judge in an attempt to remove the criticism of it being a “toothless tiger”. Retired Federal Court judge Ray Finklestein is leading the inquiry.

Council Chair Professor Julian Disney said it was important that new legislation be extended to include the growing number of online news and “blog” websites. He also voiced concern over the legalistic nature of the inquiry, saying “The Council is concerned that if it had the power to impose heavy sanctions its processes might have to become so formal, adversarial, slow and expensive that most people will not able or willing to complain to it.”

The Office of the Australian Information Commissioner recommends that a single set of privacy principles or guidelines be considered for all media organisations, as well as web-based publishers and bloggers who would otherwise not be regarded within the traditional definitions of journalism.

Labor leader Senator Doug Cameron has called for the media inquiry to hold News Limited to account, after they reported on leadership instability within the government. Senator Cameron dismissed the report as “absolute lies”.

“The Murdoch press are an absolute disgrace, they are a threat to democracy in this country and we should absolutely be having a look at them,” he said in parliament. “I’m saying it’s a fabrication. They run unsubstantiated stories in relation to the leadership of the party.”

Finkelstein however denied the inquiry is linked to Senator Cameron’s calls for an examination into News Limited, stating it will instead focus on the “style and content” of reporting.

Social Lending: How To Find The Best Value Personal Loan With Bad Credit

by

Brianna Harmer

A Bad Credit Personal loan is a loan available to people with a poor credit history. Traditional lenders won\’t approve loans to people with poor credit scores or with mortgages in default or arrears. Did you know you can borrow up to $5,000 without increasing your mortgage or refinancing your home? As long as you have been employed for over three months and aren\’t on probation, you can borrow money secured against your property, even if you have bad credit. This article will briefly look at the ways you can find the best value person loan.

Get A Free Credit Report

You are entitled to get a free credit report; do this and you\’ll see what lenders see. The worse your score is, the more you\’ll end up paying in interest on your personal loan. You may be able to fix your own credit score on your own. You simply need to write to any of the three credit rating agencies if you feel that there is some inaccurate or outdated information that is dragging your score down. You can get a free copy of your credit report from any one of these three credit reporting agencies: CheckYourCredit.com.au (Dun and Bradstreet) – 1300 734 806, Tasmanian Collection Service – 03 6213 5555 and MyCreditFile.com.au (Veda) – 1300 762 207.

There are many law firms online that will offer a free evaluation and then a paid service where they\’ll fix your bad credit. You can write letters yourself but you must always act ethically and never contest information that you know to be accurate and true.

Where Do I Get A Loan?

As banks pay such low interest to savers, many people are looking to social lending as way to get higher returns on their cash. Social lending (known as peer-to-peer or P2P lending) is an extremely popular way to borrow cash for people with a poor credit history. Australia has many social lending sites that are free to join. You may wonder why the interest rates vary so wildly between each loan but it is worth bearing in mind that most often rates can only be given after a full assessment has been made.

How Do I Find The Best Rate?

When assessing the effective cost of personal loans, the social lending site should be up-front and transparent about what\’s called the \’Comparison Rate\’ as required under law by the Consumer Credit Code. You should closely check the maximum interest rate, the settlement fees and any other fees that you may be charged. Sometimes this is only possible after you complete an application and submit your request. Lenders will want to carefully check before offering you a rate.

It\’s also important to consider all the fees that aren\’t included up front such as government and statutory fees and fees and charges that are event-based and may or may not apply throughout the life of your loan. Examples of these would include late-payment fees; redraw fees or early repayment fees. Lenders may offer a promissory interest-free loan rate but then there might be a penalty rate if you fail to keep up with your repayments.

According to Iraqi police, at least 95 people have been killed and half a thousand wounded after six explosions in Iraq’s capital of Baghdad on Wednesday.

Eyewitness reports say that two main attacks targeted the finance and foreign ministries. Police sources say that the blasts, which were caused by vehicles filled with explosives, all took place within several minutes.

Major General Qassim Atta, spokesman for the national armed forces’ operation in the capital, said that “a truck bomb went off near the Salhiyeh intersection and it caused casualties and a number of civilian cars were destroyed. We accuse the Baathist alliance of executing these terrorist operations.”

As a result of the attacks, Iraqi prime minister Nouri al-Maliki called for a security review. “The criminal operations that happened today no doubt call for a re-evaluation of our plans and our security methods to face the terrorist challenges,” he said.

The attacks are the deadliest in Baghdad since June 24, when 62 people died after a bomb on a motorcycle detonated.
