The method and cleaning detergents you use to clean your clothing will determine the quality of cleanliness. Due to the busy schedules of most people in the modern world, time to clean clothes at home has become limited. Many people for this reason opt to take their clothes to a laundry place where there are big machines that are used to clean them.

The commercial washers used in laundries have a high capacity and for this reason are heavy duty. Commercial Laundry services are popular in different businesses such as the salon, spas, industries, automotive centers, restaurants, hotels, and medical facilities among others. The laundry service providers ensure that all your laundry needs are met by handling your clothing in a professional way.

Why should let professional launders handle your linens?

Different uniforms and linens may not require similar cleaning products and techniques. Professional launders apply a different laundry touch depending on the type and nature of the linen being cleaned. It takes laundry skills to mix the cleaning detergents in the right amounts in the laundry machine.

Is the laundry service good for medical facilities?

Medical facilities and linens used in the health centers, dispensaries and hospitals need the attention of professional laundry service providers. Linens in the medical setups contain harmful microbes that need to be eliminated through washing without damaging the linen material. Chemical agents and blood can easily and permanently stain linens. However, professional laundry service providers have enough skills to remove such stubborn stains and leave your linens spotlessly clean.

How do the laundry services save time?

The commercial laundry machines used in the laundry places can work on loads of linens and uniforms in one round. In addition, the service providers find it their pleasure to pick the linens you want cleaned from your home and return them once they are through. This saves you transport cost and time of driving from your house to their laundry premise. They also take less time to work on your linens.

Pilgrim Cleaners provide you with the finest quality laundry services for all your linens and uniforms. They use professionally maintained Commercial Laundry machines, and they always keep the laundry place safe and clean. The staff members here are properly trained, highly experienced and always available for your laundry services. Visit the website: Mypilgrimcleaners.com for more details.

The upcoming 2006 Brampton municipal election, to be held November 13, features an array of candidates looking to represent their wards in city council or the council of the Peel Region. The candidates for this region are John Sanderson, Susan DiMarco (this wards incumbent), Tibor Bankuti, Theo Goary and Sukhwant Thethi.

John Sanderson spoke exclusively to Wikinews via questions sent in an email. Mr Sanderson’s answers to some of the questions asked are below.

Q: List the three most important issues in your campaign.

A: Safer communities through effective enforcement;
Reduced traffic congestion through effective planning; and
Managed growth through effective plan development.

Q: What one election issue do you feel is most relevant to your ward in this election?

A: My motivation for pursuing pubic office is to ensure that our city has adequate infrastructure to support its rapid growth. Wards 3 and 4 include Highway 410, Steeles Avenue, Kennedy Rd., Highway 10, McLaughlin Rd. and Chinguacousy Rd, some of the most congested roads in Brampton. As a life-long resident of Brampton, the severe traffic congestion that we are experiencing today is unprecedented in our history – and is costly to our economy and quality of life. While canvassing, the common message received from residents in the ward is that we need to better manage traffic and transportation. As a Regional Councillor, I will be a strong advocate for smart and long-term transportation planning of the City of Brampton and Region of Peel and I will take immediate measures to help alleviate transportation congestion in our city. This includes the provision of an effective and efficient public transit system that is responsive to users’ needs, as well as implementing and promoting carpooling, to help reduce single occupancy vehicles on roadways. I am also not afraid to speak up about the issues of Brampton. As Past President of The Brampton Board of Trade, I can be a strong voice to the Provincial Government about their need to make transportation infrastructure a priority, particularly as it relates to expanding Highway 410 and better planning and coordination of transportation region wide.

Q: What qualities or experiences do you possess, that make you more desirable than the incumbent?

A:

Q: Why do you want to represent your ward on council?

A:

Q: How are you currently involved in the community?

A: John has been a volunteer his entire life. John understands that “Community” is about service.
From 2001-2002, John Sanderson served as President of The Brampton Board of Trade. He was first elected as a member of The Brampton Board of Trade Governing Council in 1992, and continued as an active member when he started his own company, J.W.S. Waste Systems Inc., in 1998. Through his many years as a member of the Board, John served on every Board committee, including 11 years on Governing Council.
As a model corporate citizen, John Sanderson and his former company, J.W.S. Waste Systems Inc. contributed extensively to various community initiatives through sponsorship and participation, including: Salvation Army; St. John Ambulance; YMCA Fundraising Committee; Brampton Clean City; Santa Claus Parade; Brampton Excelsiors Major Lacrosse Club (including 14 years on the Executive and two years as President); Rotary Club of Brampton; Brampton Scouts Leader; and coaching and managing various minor hockey and lacrosse teams. As a member of the Ontario Waste Management Association, John served as President from 1996-98, in addition to four years on the Executive.
Outside of his business, Sanderson is very well known through his active volunteerism with the Rotary Club of Brampton, where he has been a member for 15 years and on the Board of Directors for six years. With the Rotary Club, John has participated on: the Easter Seals Fundraising Committee; volunteer at the Rotary owned and operated bingo hall; Membership Committee, where he was recognized with an Membership Award in 2002; and Chair of the Gage Park Enhancement Committee, Brampton’s historic park and skating trail, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Brampton. John’s dedicated service to the Rotary Club was honoured in December 2001, when he was presented the prestigious Paul Harris Fellowship Award, the highest award given by Rotary International to recognize community service.
John Sanderson, more important than being a prominent businessperson is a true community leader. Through his active involvement in The Brampton Board of Trade and Rotary Club of Brampton, along with his many other community initiatives and activities, he has dedicated himself to improving the quality of life in Brampton. In 2002, The Brampton Salvation Army asked John to be its Kettle Campaign Chair. John’s goal was to surpass the 2001 total. He dedicated himself so heavily to the campaign, that through his business and community connections, helped raise $233,000 – $118,000 more than the previous year. This is typical of John Sanderson when he makes a commitment to help. John, being a modest man, is always quick to thank his dedicated staff at J.W.S. Waste Systems Inc. and caring wife and family, for supporting him as he dedicates, on average, over 50 volunteer hours a month to his various community activities.
Adding to his long list of accolades, in 2002, John was one of two individuals recognized nationally by the Canadian Chamber of Commerce as Volunteer of the Year. Later that year, he was also the recipient of the prestigious Queen’s Jubilee.

Q: The Rose Theatre recently launched. What are your thoughts on this facility? Have you had a chance to tour it yet?

A:

Q: The province has strongly encouraged the development of high-density residences near the downtown. Do these buildings fit in with your vision of the downtown? How much say should other levels of government have in urban planning?

A:

Q: How do you feel about Brampton’s rate of expansion? Council recently capped the annual amount of new development; do you agree completely with this decision, would you have slowed development even further, or not have imposed a cap at all?

A:

Q: What are your opinions on Brampton’s congestion and the level of public transit funding?

A:

Q: Why should businesses be attracted to locating in Brampton?

A:

Q: How could Brampton further itself in attracting corporate investment?

A:

Q: Why have you chosen to involve yourself in the political process?

A: John Sanderson knows that Brampton can truly become a great city with the right vision, drive and management. John Sanderson will bring his business savvy and a strong sense of community to the role of Regional Councillor, and will contribute a common sense approach to the management of this city.
As Brampton grows to 635,000 people over the next 15 years, we need strong leaders on City and Regional Council. We need people with vision. But most of all, we need people determined to make change happen, people who will listen and speak out on issues.

Q: What does Brampton mean to you?

A man shot a faculty physician as well as his own mother before killing himself at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. The shooting occurred on the eighth floor of the Nelson Building, the hospital’s main building. Baltimore police found the suspected shooter, who had been barricaded inside his mother’s hospital room for several hours before killing himself and his mother.

At around 11:15 a.m. EDT (1515 UTC), an unnamed doctor was shot in the chest at a patient area of the Nelson Building’s thoracic center. All major hospital facilities were placed under a lockdown, and some medical personnel were evacuated from the Nelson Building. The doctor was sent to surgery at the hospital, and police spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi said that the doctor will likely survive the incident. He was not aware of any connections between the suspect and the doctor, who was in critical condition.

A nurse at the hospital told The Baltimore Sun that the shooter was dissatisfied with how his mother had been treated and even said that he was going to jump out of a window. The nurse said that, upon hearing gunshots, she ran.

Earlier, Baltimore area police said that they were “in the process of a tactical operation” to capture the gunman, who was holed up on the eighth floor. A spokesperson for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) said that it had been assisting local police in the incident. A Johns Hopkins spokesperson had previously said that authorities had taken the shooter into custody, but police said that the report was incorrect.

The suspect, who had not taken any hostages, was described as a black man in his thirties. After a standoff lasting for three hours, law enforcement officers moved into his mother’s hospital room, and found both him and his mother dead from gunshot wounds to their heads. The suspect was first identified as 50-year-old Warren Davis, and his mother as Jean Davis. Police later said that “Warren Davis” was an alias and that his real name was not known.

Baltimore Police Commissioner Frederick Bealefeld, who said that the department is “treating this case as a murder-suicide,” said that no officers reported hearing the shots that killed the two. Police had previously said that the gunman had been shot and killed by police, but police later said that that report was incorrect.

The iPhone only made its appearance as a prototype and there have been controversies aroused.

The dispute has come up between the manufacturer of the iPhone (which was presented on Wednesday for the first time) — Apple Inc. — and a leader in network and communication systems, based in San Jose — Cisco. The company claims to possess the trademark for iPhone, and moreover, that it sells devices under the same brand through one of its divisions.

This became the reason for Cisco to file a lawsuit against Apple Inc. so that the latter would stop selling the device.

Cisco states that it has received the trademark in 2000, when the company overtook Infogear Technology Corp., which took place in 1996.

The Vice President and general counsel of the company, Mark Chandler, explained that there was no doubt about the excitement of the new device from Apple, but they should not use a trademark, which belongs to Cisco.

The iPhone developed by Cisco is a device which allows users to make phone calls over the voice over Internet protocol (VoIP).

The stimulus package has done some good things for people in our country. But what I am so excited about is the scholarship for moms package that was included. For years I had dreamed of a college education. Because of hard work and a helpful family, I was able to attain that dream. However, I realize that I was one of the few lucky ones and I know that millions of other moms have not had that opportunity. Now that has changed. With the almost $9,000.00 per year provided to mothers who want to earn a higher education degree, they too, can go to college.

The greatest thing about this scholarship money is that it is free. You never have to make a loan payment when you are done with college. The government knows that if you have a college degree, you will earn more money and thus, you will be paying it back by providing well for your family. It is simple to get started, but you need to take that first step.1. Go online and fill out a scholarship grant application at FAFSA.org. This is the site for Free Application for Federal Student Aid.2. Find out how much money you will receive.3. Check around for a college or university that offers your course of study.4. Look at online colleges and universities as well.5. Enroll in the school and visit with the financial office there.6. Find out if you can apply for other grants and scholarships.7. Begin your classes. There are several advantages to checking out the online schools. First of all, you will not have to worry about daycare if you have younger children. Also, there will not be any traveling expenses. Another great bonus is the ability to study at home at your convenience. This means that you may continue to work if you find you need to.Once you pay for your tuition and books, the remainder of the money may be used for your other daily living expenses. The government only wants you to be able to have that education so that you can provide for your family in a better way. What are you waiting for? Begin your path towards a new future now!

In the Opening Day of 2008 AutoTronics Taipei (April 9), the Industrial Technology Research Institute of Taiwan (ITRI) invited Jamie C. Hsu (Consultant of Ministry of Economic Affairs of the Republic of the China and Former Management Executive Director of General Motors Global Technology) for a speech in the “Pavilion of Taiwan Automotive Research Consortium (TARC)” to forecast the future of automobile industry in Taiwan, which echoed the “Taiwan Automotive International Forum & Exhibition”, held at TWTC Nangang in conjunction with 2008 Taipei AMPA.

There were several crisis for the automobile industry in Taiwan because of the decrease of market scale, low self-independence, technology transition, and the rise up of oil prices. But after in conjunction with light-weighting, electronical, and energy-saving related industries, there were other chances and challenges for the automobile industry in Taiwan. Currently, the Taiwan Automotive Research Consortium should do a proper role on R&D, policy driving, and quality improving, even though urban and rural differences, and key issue of carbon dioxide wasting, if there is a new innovation, Taiwan will be a good example in the automobile industry in the world.

Typhoon Frank stormed across the Philippine Sea June 21, 2008 capsizing numerous boats, killing hundreds and leaving an estimated 1,330 missing in total including 820 passengers and crew from the MV Princess of the Stars ferry.

Since then Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) teams in Cebu City, Philippines made up of experts from the Philippines National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), the International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP). and INTERPOL have painstakingly matched DNA from recovered bodies to that of blood samples donated by relatives of those still missing.

“The 23,000-ton vessel was also carrying tens of thousands of pounds of commercial insecticide and many bodies still remain trapped inside the wreckage” according to a recent press release from the ICMP.

“With fingerprint identification out of the question for most of the victims, and dental records not available, this leaves only DNA as a means of identification, with samples from recovered victims matched to those provided by the missing passengers’ relatives.”

An NBI-DVI report explains “DNA matches are made by comparing profiles from victims to a database of profiles from their relatives. A minimum of two close relatives [are] sought for each individual.”

NBI-DVI has so far collected 1,916 blood samples from relatives of missing victims representing 809 missing persons. These samples are then matched against the 318 DNA samples from recovered bodies received by the ICMP.

“Almost three months have passed since our country was struck by one of the worst typhoons in memory, with ‘Frank’ causing the sinking of the Princess of the Stars with hundreds of passengers and crew on board,” said NBI Director Nestor M. Mantaring in the press release.

“The NBI, through its DVI team, was tasked [with identifying] the victims of this tragedy. With help from INTERPOL and the ICMP, we have reached the 100th DNA-matched result which led to the identification and release of the bodies to their respective families.

“We are committed to doing this until the last possible victim is identified and returned to their family,” he concluded.

Dental Implants for New or Existing Denture Replacement

by

Dental implants have become the basic solution for those who have lost or are facing the loss of one or even all of their natural teeth. In earlier days, a traditional denture was the only way for replacing an entire row of missing teeth. Since traditional dentures are readily available and seem less costly than natural looking dental implants, many people are still suffering with upper and lower dentures. That is unfortunate because it is devastating to their self confidence and self esteem. Indeed to their entire quality of life. Dentures cause them embarrassment and hold them back in their careers and social settings. Dental implants are now providing a more acceptable solution for these people. Dental implants are often placed by expert dental surgeons and restored by their prosthetic dental partners to help patients replace their missing teeth. Better yet a few dentist have tackled the daunting task of becoming experts in all phases of dental implants; both the surgical and prosthetics. Even more rare but desirable is the dentist who has master all phases of dental implantology as well as general and cosmetic dentistry.Basically dental implants are titanium based artificial tooth roots that are used to replace missing natural roots. Teeth attached to these dental implants can restore the natural beauty of one’s smile, restore the ability to eat and taste foods, and eliminate the stigma associated with having one or more teeth missing.

Patients who are about to lose most or all of their teeth, in either the upper or lower arch, have found a permanent solution by choosing dental implants. Full dental implants are helping them to successfully replace all of their damaged or decaying teeth without any discomfort. Unlike removable dentures, they don’t slip and also make it possible for people to eat anything they could with their natural teeth.

[youtube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=keNIh_GZmPc[/youtube]

Dental implants offer several advantages over conventional dentures. Dental implants are placed where teeth once grew. Because there is no need for suction to hold them in or a large plate of plastic to place the teeth in they can be customized to look and feel just like natural teeth without the puffiness under the nose and in the cheeks caused by the extended flanges of dentures.

Additionally dental implants stimulate bone growth and help maintain the youthful form of the face. Eating is a pleasure again with dental implants. Because the teeth are so secure corn on the cob, ribs, steak, and apples are as natural to eat as they are for someone with their own teeth. This would never be possible with dentures. Whereas traditional dentures and bridges need to be replaced every few years, dental implants, if handled with care, can remain operative for a lifetime.Dental implants are the answer for those missing a few or all of their teeth. The initial cost will be more than conventional dentures but because of a decreased need for replacement and repair this tends to even out over time. And who would care if it didn’t. The increased quality of life promised by dental implants compared to dentures is priceless.

With development of Microsoft’s Internet Explorer 9 (IE9) browser almost complete, Microsoft announced on Friday that it is time for IE6 users to move away from the antiquated 10-year-old browser. Microsoft has replaced it with three newer versions. On a new website, “The Internet Explorer 6 Countdown”, Microsoft has launched an aggressive campaign to persuade users to stop using IE6 and update to a newer IE. Its goal is to decrease IE6 users to less than one percent.

“[Ten] years ago, a browser was born. Its name was Internet Explorer 6. Now that we’re in 2011, in an era of modern web standards, it’s time to say goodbye,” Microsoft says on “The Internet Explorer 6 Countdown”.

Internet Explorer’s market share is slipping. IE’s various versions accounted for 70 percent of the market in 2009; this has dropped to approximately 56 percent today. Mozilla Firefox, its main rival, has been actively increasing its market share while the recently released Google Chrome is also quickly gaining users. PC World’s recent analysis of its own web traffic statistics concluded, “Usually, Internet Explorer is the #2 browser after Firefox, but over the past 30 days it’s been #3, a couple of points behind Safari-and nearly tied with Chrome. It might be a statistical blip. But if it isn’t, and Chrome continues to surge, IE could fall to fourth place.”

Web developers face big problems with IE6. As they design their web pages for the newer browsers with advanced web technology and geared to the newest web core markup language HTML 5, they are forced to accommodate older out-of-date technology to support IE6 users. Also, not mentioned on Microsoft’s “The Internet Explorer 6 Countdown” site, are the numerous security vulnerabilities putting the browser at risk of being hacked. The Internet security firm Secunia.com, has said that as of March 4, 2011, IE6 has 277 vulnerabilities; 39 percent of these are rated “highly critical”. Microsoft says that the latest versions of Internet Explorer provide the user with enhanced protection from these attacks and threats.

Microsoft’s Internet Explorer 6 is one of the most successful software products ever as measured by its durability and the massive numbers of people who have used it. IE6 shipped with Windows XP, nearly a decade ago. But it has outlived its usefulness, and Microsoft no longer wants to support it.

While nearly all coverage of the 2008 Presidential election has focused on the Democratic and Republican candidates, the race for the White House also includes independents and third party candidates. These parties represent a variety of views that may not be acknowledged by the major party platforms.

Wikinews has impartially reached out to these candidates, throughout the campaign. We now interview independent Presidential candidate Frank Moore, a performance artist.
