SAP High Availability A clear picture

by

Needless to say, it is imperative for you to maximize the uptime of your SAP system. In other words, you need to ensure the continuous availability of any such system, especially if you cannot afford to lose out on revenue, or deal with decreased productivity. With that being said, what you probably need is a solution for SAP high availability so as to ensure that you are fully prepared to take any of the aforementioned problems by the horns. Here, it is worth mentioning that any such solution would also come in handy if you do not wish to land up in a situation, wherein you might have to deal with customer frustration and loss, and employee stress.

Meanwhile, it is important for you to understand why a solution for SAP high availability is required in the first place. To begin with, you must realize Net Weaver and all other components are vulnerable to failure and therefore, you need to put some preventive measures in place. Secondly, you just cannot afford to let downtime hamper your productivity. Last but not least, you need to try your level best to achieve the goal of four 9s, and do it as soon as possible. When all and is said, any feasible solution can help you in your time of need and would come in handy if you have been striving hard to optimize your RTO (read: Recovery Time Objective) but could never achieve the desired results for one reason or another.

In the meantime, you should take a closer look at all the other applications that you might be using and find out if there is a scope for improvement. For instance, you might need a Linux business continuity solution, one that would help you in keeping downtime at bay. It goes without saying that any such solution should preferably be able to monitor and protect all those applications that use Linux as a platform. After all, the idea is to carry out every business related activity in a continuous manner without letting downtime take a toll on it.

Nevertheless, you must keep some things in mind when you begin to conduct a search for a Linux business continuity solution. First of all, you should be able to use with exceptional ease, even if you are doing so for the very first time. Secondly, it should have everything that it takes to ensure continuous up time unless you are prepared to deal with some downtime every now and then. Last but not least, there should be some provision for data restoration so as to ensure that you can continue to conduct business and are able to resume operations in literally no time.

In a move aimed at hampering the near-daily bombing attacks in southern Thailand, all owners of prepaid phones are required to register by midnight local time today or face being blocked.

Originally scheduled for implementation at the end of last year, the move was deferred to allow people more time to register their phones. The policy only applies to the three southernmost provinces that border MalaysiaPattani, Narathiwat, and Yala — formerly the Malay Pattani kingdom.

Thais from other parts of the country with prepaid phones will also be required to register should they wish to visit the region. When doing so their calls will be treated as roaming, a feature of GSM which allows a user to make and receive calls on a network other than that of their service provider.

Many of the bombs used in the south are believed to be detonated by mobile phone, although most of the more than one thousand casualties in the region have been from drive-by shootings and stabbings.

It is reported that 65% of the near half-million prepaid phones in the region that this would impact have been registered. Prepaid phones are commonplace throughout Thailand and estimates put the number in use throughout the whole country at approximately ten million.

Other efforts to deal with the insurgency in the predominantly Muslim area include an announcement yesterday that approximately 20,000 local villagers will be given training and small arms to help defend their villages. Both men and women will be eligible, and those accepted into the programme will be put onto the government payroll.

Australian solar racing team Sunswift paraded their fifth car, eVe, on the Kensington campus of the University of New South Wales, Sydney, yesterday. They are leaving for the 2013 World Solar Challenge this weekend. Both staff and students came to the send-off event in the early afternoon.

The vehicle route led from the biomed lawn of Michael Birt Gadrens in upper Kensington Campus down the University Mall to Anzac Parade with a few stops along the way at Commerce Courtyard and Globe Lawn. The driver, as well as the passenger, alighted as six members of the team carried eVe over the stairs of University Mall.

eVe, the latest car built by the Sunswift team, was designed for the new Cruiser class of the competition, and thus meets regulations for normal roads-worthy vehicles. While its predecessor IVy weighed under 150 kg, eVe weighs approximately 300 kg, with light carbon fiber monocoque construction and 15 kWh batteries weighing only 63 kg. However, eVe has achieved a similar drag coefficient, despite different overall shape and larger frontal area.

The 2013 Bridgestone World Solar Challenge is to take place on October 6–13, 2013.

The New Zealand National party has announced that it will pay back the GST (Goods and Services Tax) it owes to five different advertisers, all television stations, by buying advertising time for the several different charities. The advertisements will appear on the owed media outlets. They have decided with the current path is it would “unlawful” to pay back the GST normally.

The GST amounted to NZ$112,000.

National’s original plan of getting a one time bill passed that it would allow them to pack the owed GST to the media outlets was ditched in favour of this new one. “With the prospect of legislation diminishing, it’s time to accept that National cannot go down that path,” Judy Kirk, president of the National party, said.

If National was to pay back the GST, they would be breaking the law by going over the electioneering cap set by the Broadcasting Act.

The owed media companies are TVNZ, TV3 and Sky Television. It also includes Sky’s free-to-air channel, Prime.

Ms Kirk said: “We want to get some closure on the matter and have taken extensive legal advice on our options… We have secured clear advice that it would be unlawful to pay the five outstanding media creditors, and that it would be unlawful for them to accept payment. We do not wish to break the law, and nor do we wish to place our creditors in the position of breaking the law.”

“…we will purchase the media advertising time directly from broadcasters and ask that they allocate it amongst the range of charities currently supported by each,” Ms Kirk said.

National said that their error on not paying for the GST did not effect the outcome of the election, unlike the Labour party’s overspending.

Sedatives for Dogs

by

Richmond NicksLocal animal shelters sometimes have labs available for adoption. Many purebred dogs can in fact be found at animal shelters. By adopting a chocolate lab from a shelter, you’ll be helping a dog in need as well as bringing a potentially lovely pet into your home.

A lot of people do not know how to recognize if their natural worries have developed into a phobia. A phobia is classified as an illogical dread or fear. If a person comes upon a phobia trigger, they may grow panicked with faster heartbeat and respiration. Often, that person may begin experiencing a choking sensation or their hands get clammy. The person could additionally have ringing in their ears and find they are powerless to focus on the environs.

Holistic treatment for insomnia is multifaceted and incorporates many techniques including herbal medicine, vitamin and mineral supplements, lifestyle changes, improved sleep hygiene, massage therapy, behavioral therapy, meditation, diet, exercise, hypnosis, acupuncture, relaxation, guided imagery, and homeopathy. A treatment approach is aimed at precluding all the potential causes of insomnia rather than simply providing symptomatic relief.

Dog friendly hotels and motels are becoming more and more common. Often you have to pay an extra fee to offset the cost of vacuuming up the dog hair but that is usually only an extra $10 or so. A common rule is to never leave your dog alone in the room as the barking could disturb your neighbors and take your dog far away from any entrances or pathways to do their ‘business’. And always, always, always clean up after your dog!

A lot of the disadvantages of the drug solution to dog noise anxiety will be obvious, as they’re the same as for humans: an often prohibitive cost with a need for regular resupply (every storm season in this case), and potential side effects, interactions, and even liver toxicity. Don’t forget that just as we need a doctor’s visit for a prescription, you’ll need to go through a veterinarian, which is another annoying fee. One thing that makes drug administration to dogs far worse is the fact that you’d have trouble asking even the most intelligent of dogs how the drug makes them actually feel. You may be leaving your pup sadly dazed just to get them through the stresses of a storm and firework summer.

When phobic disorders go untreated they can lead to secondary conditions such as depression, other anxiety disorders, substance abuse and even suicide. Many people with social phobia become dependent on alcohol or sedatives and use them to reduce their anxiety.

Traveling by car with your dog can be a lot of fun. Ensure that you have all documents related to your dog on hand. Whenever traveling, be certain that your dog has a sturdy collar on, with at least one identification tag, and one registration or medical tag. The smart thing for both you and your dog while being transported in a car is for the dog to be secured. This prevents injury to the dog should you have to stop abruptly, and it prevents the dog from becoming airborne and smashing into you.

Dog owners with gun shy dogs have to be watchful, especially in summer, when there often are loud noises that come out of the blue. Apart from running into harms way, gun shy dogs can be extremely destructive. They climb on and destroy furniture, they scratch in corners, at walls and doors. They dig under fences in a desperate attempt to escape. Some dogs have severely injured themselves jumping through glass windows in fear.Read about bohemia travel. On Sunday, female ice hockey players from North and South Korea joined one another for a training session before the upcoming Winter Olympics. Players from the two Koreas are to compete together as a united team for the events hosted in Pyeongchang, South Korea, which are scheduled to start on February 9; Seoul’s Unification Ministry said. The cross-border gesture is part of diplomatic efforts to ease tensions on the divided Korean Peninsula and the team was approved by the International Olympic Committee.

The International Olympic Committee selected Pyeongchang in 2011 to host the event, marking South Korea’s first opportunity since the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul. The earlier event was marred by violence as North Korea had bombed a South Korean flight several months prior, killing over 100 and boycotted the event. Inter-Korean relations have changed considerably in the ensuing thirty years, including the two sending unified teams for table tennis and youth football in other non-Olympic competitions.

The announcement that the two countries would compete together was a stated goal of South Korean President Moon Jae-in. Last year, he announced the proposal and the two nations went into discussion this month. After two weeks, they made the announcement to field a consolidated 35-strong team of ice hockey players and have joint skiing exercises with both team coaches involved.

According to Yonhap News Agency estimates, about 80% of South Koreans support dialogue, but the move to have a joint team has been controversial. Over 10,000 South Korean citizens sent a petition to South Korean President Moon opposing the union and a group of North Korean defectors held a protest at the South Korean National Assembly on January 24, tearing apart photos of the North Korean leader, Kim Jong-un. Public support for eventual reunification of the Korean peninsula has waned in recent years, with the younger generation more skeptical of the possibility.
